Suttur, April 28, 2026: Unity in diversity forms the essence of Indian culture, stated Dr. G. V.
Manjunath, Lecturer at Kotrenanjappa Pre-University College, Holalkere, while addressing students
at a camp organized at Suttur Srikshetra. The camp was organized by Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana
Mahasamsthana Math, Sri Shivaratreeshwara Religious Endowment, and JSS Mahavidyapeetha.
In his address, Dr. Manjunath emphasized that Indian culture is one of the richest and most
profound in the world, rooted in the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family).
He highlighted that music, literature, dance, and sculpture are integral parts of this cultural heritage
and stressed the responsibility of the present generation to preserve and pass on these values to
future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Dharmaprasad, Chief Executive Secretary, Conformatics Limited,
underlined that success is not achieved easily but requires patience, consistent effort, self-
confidence, and proper guidance. He also emphasized the importance of effective communication
skills and maintaining a stable and focused mind to achieve success in life.
The camp featured a series of spiritual, educational, and cultural activities. The day began with mass
prayers and yoga sessions, promoting discipline and well-being among the participants. Campers
later viewed an animated documentary on the Guru Parampara, gaining insights into the rich history
and legacy of the Sri Math.
Participants visited significant places including the Moola Math, Sri Someshwara Temple, Sri
Mahadeshwara’s ragi beesida kallu, and Sri Veerabhadreshwara Temple, where they received blessings.
They also attended demonstrations at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, learning about agricultural
practices, and gained knowledge about indigenous cattle breeds at the goshala.
In the evening, devotees gathered on the banks of the Kapila River for prayers and the Kapilarathi
ceremony, conducted with deep reverence. Shri N. Rajendra Prasad, the moderator, spoke about the
importance of rivers in sustaining life and culture.
The camp concluded with vibrant cultural performances by the students, including devotional
songs, folk songs, one-act plays, and traditional folk dances, showcasing the richness of Indian
heritage and talent among the youth.
