Suttur, August 18, 2025: “Life should be led on the path of achievement with hope and positivity,” said Sri H.B. Devanna, delivering a sermon on the 26th day of the Shravan month at Suttur Srikshetra on August 18.
He emphasized that life must be lived with a sense of purpose and desire to achieve. “There should be hope in life; one must strive — that is what life is. Difficulties are natural, but we should never be discouraged by them,” he said.
If there is hope in what one does, success is possible. To achieve it, one must nurture love and devotion, avoiding hatred. This quality is evident in the lives of the supreme devotees and sharanas, who filled their hearts with compassion. “Think deeply about what you can do with your life, and the path will become clearer,” he added.
Sri Devanna noted that life’s challenges are essential — they teach valuable lessons, show us what victory looks like, and prepare us to guide others.
“Success in life is like a mirage in a desert, but it is achievable. Everyone has unique talents and abilities, and if nurtured with the right opportunities, success is certain.”
He also underlined the importance of good parenting and education. “If parents lead by example, their children will naturally follow the path of ideals. Parents must ensure their children are in good company and are provided quality education. Education should be the light that leads them to a life of achievement.”
To illustrate his message, he recounted the story of Pagaltoneyanda, a devout follower of Lord Shiva. Despite a severe famine that forced many to leave his village, he remained behind, continuing his service of offering flowers and performing Jalabhisheka with pure cold water. His unwavering devotion earned him a place among the Shivaganas in Kailash.
The event began with a mass prayer.
Dr. H.S. Meghana, Dr. C. Abhilash, Mrs. Gouramma, Mr. M. Mahadevaswamy, and devotees from the Kumbara Samaj rendered service during the program, which saw participation from a large number of devotees and spiritual seekers.
