A Woman Should Nurture the Home and Souls, Says Shri H.B. Devanna

Suttur, August 11, 2024: “We find peace, love, and care within our homes, and it is the responsibility of a woman to nurture these qualities among the family members,” stated Shri H.B. Devanna during a discourse at the Suttur Math in Sri Suttur Kshetra. The event was part of the ongoing Shravana Maasa discourse program, marking its 8th day.

In his address, Shri H.B. Devanna emphasized women’s pivotal role in society. He remarked, “A woman is not just a source of power; she is a powerhouse, capable of absorbing the pain of the entire world while still showering love and care. Women are the epitome of mercy, sacrifice, love, and trust, and they are the ones who bring light to a home. The forgiving nature of women can resolve many of the conflicts that arise in daily life, whether between a husband and wife, mother and son, or with in-laws. Women often forgive regardless of who is at fault, embodying love, care, strength, and persistence.”

Shri H.B. Devanna further reflected on the historical struggles faced by women in India, noting that no woman in society, even those who were queens, lived a contented life. He referenced figures from Indian epics, such as Urmila, Shakuntala, Ahalya, and Devaki, who endured great trials to prove their virtues. “A woman is the source of nature, with a soul that shines. She possesses qualities that attract, respond, and sympathize, making her deserving of reverence,” he added.

The program commenced with an invocation, and Shri D.M. Siddalingaswamy recited a poem. The event also featured sevas performed by Smt. V. Geetha, Shri K.M. Anandamurthy, Shri J.M. Veerbhadraswamy, and Smt. B.S. Siddarajamma and family. Devotees and spiritual aspirants actively participated in the program.
