Applications invited for Suttur JSS School and Free Hostel

Suttur, March 25, 2023: The JSS School and Free Students Hostel have opened applications for admission to eligible candidates for the academic year 2023-24. Admissions are open from 1st to 8th standard, as well as 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 8th Standard English medium classes. Candidates from economically backward rural areas are also eligible to apply.

To obtain an application, candidates can visit the school office in Suttur or download the form from the school’s website, www.jssschoolsuttur.org, or the JSS Online portal, www.jssonline.org. Alternatively, applicants can request to receive the form via WhatsApp or through the post, by sending a self-addressed envelope with a Rs.5 postal stamp to the Administrative Officer at JSS Institutions, Suttur – 571129, Nanjangud Taluk, Mysuru District. The completed applications should be submitted by May 13.

Along with the application form, candidates must also include a copy of the marks card from their previous school, a photograph, Aadhar card copies of the student and parents, a ration card copy, and caste and income certificate copies.

Parents or guardians can visit the school office in Suttur for any clarifications regarding the application or admission process, and they are advised not to engage with brokers.

JSS Education University Conducts Nuclear Teaching Workshop to Enhance Teaching Skills

Suttur, March 21, 2023: JSS Education University recently conducted a Nuclear Teaching Workshop aimed at improving the teaching skills of students and educators. The event, held at the university’s premises, was attended by first and second-year students, school principals, teachers, and trainees.

The workshop featured Dr. Mohan Kumar, Principal of NDRK College in Hassan, who emphasized the importance of sensitive teaching skills as guidelines for teaching children. Dr. Kumar demonstrated how to introduce lessons to students and stressed the significance of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

JSS Science and Technology University Holds Fifth Convocation

The JSS Science and Technology University recently held its fifth convocation on March 20, 2023, at the university campus. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Sadguru Sri Jaggi Vasudevji, the founder of the Isha Foundation, and His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji. Dr CG Betsurmath, Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, administered the oath to the graduates.

ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Coconut Development Board Host Successful Coconut Field Day in Haratale Village

Suttur, March 14, 2023: The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra, in partnership with the Coconut Development Board, recently hosted a successful Coconut Field Day in Haratale Village. The event, which aimed to provide local farmers with valuable information and resources related to coconut crop cultivation, was attended by over 50 farmers, local officials, and JSS KVK scientists.

The program was presided over by Ratnamma, the Heggadanahalli Gram Panchayat Chairman, who emphasized the importance of agriculture and the resources available at JSS KVK for farmers. Dr. Vinay G.M., one of the JSS KVK scientists, spoke about the different coconut crop varieties and intercropping, while Rajanna G.J. provided information on integrated nutrition management in coconut crops, emphasizing the importance of soil testing and managing nutrition to improve yield and soil fertility. Raju, a member of the Farmer Producers’ Association, shared his success in using light nutrients to improve yield based on information from Horticulture scientists. Dr. Prasad Y.P. spoke about various coconut crop diseases and pests and their management.

The event also included a demonstration on integrated nutrition management provided by Rajanna G.J. The program provided local farmers with a wealth of valuable information that they can use to improve their crop yields and increase their profits.

Indian Culture is a symbol of harmony and coordination: Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi

Mysuru, March 13, 2023: Prof. Muzaffar H. Assadi, a Professor at the University of Mysore, inaugurated the Cultural and Sports Forum at JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science in Mysuru. During his address, he emphasized the importance of understanding Indian culture and heritage through studying and experiencing it firsthand. He highlighted the four important aspects of Indian culture as harmony, coordination, recognition, and the search for truth. He also encouraged students to study and understand Indian culture, as it would help them develop a secular mindset and a big heart.

The program was presided over by R. Mugeshappa, Director, Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha. He emphasized the importance of developing an interest in cultural and sports activities, and advised students to reduce their mobile phone usage and take part in cultural and sports activities.

The event was attended by B.A. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, Prof. M.P. Vijayendra Kumar, Principal, Dr. M.P. Somashekar, Cultural Forum Convener, Sports Forum Convener Sri M. Kartik, and several students. The program included an invocation by Kum. Shanti and Kum. H.S. Harshavardhan, a welcome address by 2nd year M.Sc. student Kum. A. Harshini, a vote of thanks by A. Shreyas, a 2nd year M.Sc. student, and the mastering of the program by Kum. K. Yashaswini, also a 2nd year M.Sc. student.
