Robo Elephant ‘SHIVA’ Donated to Suttur Math in a Gesture of Compassion for Wildlife

Suttur, April 15, 2024: In a heartening display of compassion for wildlife, esteemed Kannada film artists Smt. Aindtrita Ray and Sri Diganth have generously donated a remarkable creation, a robo elephant named ‘SHIVA,’ to the Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur. The auspicious occasion took place on the auspicious Ugadi Festival day, amidst the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

Expressing their sentiments, Smt. Aindtria Ray emphasized the escalating conflicts between humans and wild animals due to habitat encroachment. She commended the decision of the Srimath to utilize the Robo Elephant ‘SHIVA’ as a constructive measure to address these challenges.

Sri Diganth echoed these sentiments, advocating for the preservation of natural habitats for animals. He emphasized the importance of allowing animals to roam freely in their natural habitats to prevent human-wildlife conflicts and ensure their well-being.

In his blessings, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji highlighted the fundamental right of animals to live independently and emphasized the importance of treating them with kindness and respect. The event witnessed enlightening speeches by Sri Sachin Bangera, Vice-President and Public Relations Officer of PETA, Sri Manjunathswamy, Senior KAS Officer, and Dr. Sushtruth of Gopalgowda Hospital, Mysuru, alongside the esteemed heads of various maths and dignitaries.

The program commenced with a soulful invocation by Kum. Sinchana and an introductory note by Sri G.L. Tripurantaka, setting a harmonious tone for the auspicious occasion.
