Celebration of Ugadi, Allamaprabhu Jayanti, and Panchanga Shravana at Sri Sutturkshetra

Decorated cattle carts procession was taken out at the Sri Sutturkshetra as part of the Ugadi festival leading to the agricultural fields where agricultural activities were flagged off after performing pooja.

Suttur, April 15, 2024: The Sri Suttur Math resonated with spiritual fervor as devotees gathered to celebrate Ugadi, Allamaprabhu Jayanti, and partake in the auspicious Panchanga Shravana program under the divine presence and blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.

The day commenced with elaborate rituals including Maharudrabhisheka, Sahasra Bilwarchane, Mahamangalarathi, and the Silver Chariot Prakarotsava at the Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Swamiji’s shrine. Special poojas were conducted at the Sri Someshwara, Sri Mahadeshwara, Sri Veerabhadreshwara, Sri Nanjundeshwara, and Sri Narayanaswami temples, infusing the atmosphere with divine blessings.

Dr. Vinodamma, Kannada Professor from SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Mysuru, delivered an insightful lecture on ‘Visions of Allamaprabhu’s Vachanas,’ highlighting the spiritual depth and philosophical essence of Allamaprabhu’s teachings. Dr. Vinodamma emphasized the importance of internal cultivation and the harmony between spirituality and scientific exploration embodied in Allamaprabhu’s vachanas.

Dr. K.G. Puttahonnaiah, President of Bharatiya Jyothirvignana Samshodana Kendra, Mysuru Chapter, shared predictions from the Sri Shivarathreeshwara almanac, foreseeing favorable monsoon rains for agricultural activities in the upcoming year. Vidwan Mallanna also graced the occasion with his insights.

A ceremonial procession marked the commencement of agricultural activities for the new year, with special poojas conducted at agricultural fields and shrines alike. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed heads from Sri Hosmath, Kundurbetta, Kuderu, Chunchahalli, Madiwalaswamy Maths, along with dignitaries including Senior KAS officer Dr. Manjunathaswamy and Dr. Sushruth.

The program commenced with an invocation by the JSS Lalitha Kala team, setting a tone of spiritual reverence, followed by a warm welcome and masterful orchestration of the ceremony by Sri Andaiah Shirurumath.
