‘Learning becomes easy only when the mind is happy’ – R. A. Chetanram

Mysuru, January 5, 2019: “Education is not inevitable to earn money. Even an illiterate person will earn money through different means. But what we should understand is that only the money which we earn through our knowledge will have value in this society,” opined R. A. Chetanram, Dean of the Parivartana Organization, Srirangapatna, and International Personality Development Trainer.

He was speaking at the valedictory programme of the Cultural and Sports Meet for the year 2018-19, held at the JSS PU College, on B.N. Road, Mysuru, on January 4, 2019.

“When our mind is happy, free from fear, anxiety, and tension it will open to new ideas and learning becomes easy. A happy mind, positive attitude, attractive personality, physical-mental and moral strength, commitment, confidence, an attitude of moving toward success step-by-step, are the formulas of success. The students should develop a positive attitude towards examinations. Instead of considering exams as a battle, if they see it as a festival, it becomes easy to score more marks,” he said.

“Our lifespan is limited. How we live a contented life is the essence of the preaching of all great leaders like Buddha, Basavanna, Swami Vivekananda, etc”, he added.

Chief guest Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, CEO, JSS College Complex, in his address to the students said, “Educational institutions should not function like producing students who are just money generating machines, instead they should become human resources development centers. In this competitive world, it is essential to possess skills in various subjects along with what we learn at college. The JSS Arts, Commerce and Science College possesses excellent infrastructure and is offering several skills development based courses. Students should utilize the benefits,” he advised.

Smt. Pushpalatha Jaganath, Worshipful Mayor, Mysuru City Corporation, presided over the programme. “The students should not remain idle by saying that they don’t get encouragement. They should develop an attitude of marching ahead and try to mobilize all the information about the various government schemes and utilize it properly,” she opined.

Raviprakash C. Anpur, Basketball Trainer, Department of Youth and Sports observed, “the students should not feel inferior and become mentally strong. Sports will teach us to face both victory and failures equally. It also protects our mental health.”
