“JSS College and Krishna Raja Police Station Join Forces for ‘Prevention of Drug Abuse’ Awareness Program”

Mysuru, December 21, 2023: In response to the escalating global issue of substance abuse, JSS College of Arts, Commerce & Science, in collaboration with Krishna Raja Police Station, organized a crucial awareness program on “Prevention of Drug Abuse.” The event, held on December 20, 2023, at the Seminar Hall of the college, marked a significant contribution to the ongoing “Crime Prevention Month.”

Circle Inspector Mr. K C Nagegowda from KR Police Station took the stage, addressing an audience of over 120 postgraduate students. He shed light on the prevailing crime rates in Mysuru, highlighted various types of drugs found in the region, and passionately called on students to unite with the police force in combating crime and substance abuse in the community.

Prof. B V Sambashivaiah, the esteemed Chief Executive of JSS College, played a pivotal role in advocating for the proactive involvement of youth in crime prevention. In his address to the students, he underscored the importance of saying “No” to the use of drugs right from the outset, emphasizing the crucial role that young individuals play in creating a safer community.

Dr. S Prathibha, the Principal of JSS College, contributed a unique perspective to the discourse by discussing the presence of alcohol content in Indian food culture and its significance. This broader conversation enriches the understanding of substance use within societal practices.
