Sri K.S. Prakash: “Constitution is the Mother of Our Country”

Kollegal, January 26, 2020: Sri K.S. Prakash, Assistant Professor of the Political Science Department, emphasized the significance of the constitution as the “mother” of the country during his speech at the 71st Republic Day program held at JSS Women’s College in Kollegal.

Sri Prakash stressed the importance of understanding the constitution, referring to it as the foundation of our democracy. He highlighted that the constitution was enforced on January 26, 1950, and since then, this day is celebrated as Republic Day. He credited Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, known as the father of the Indian Constitution, for his instrumental role in its creation. Sri Prakash emphasized the value of the Indian constitution, which is respected and admired worldwide. He noted that the constitution grants every citizen the right to live with dignity and is a source of pride for the nation.

Prof. Umesh, Principal of JSS Women’s College, Kollegal, hoisted the National flag during the event. In his address, he highlighted the essence of a republic country, where no single person holds supreme power, and the development of all citizens is the primary objective. He praised Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s constitution for ensuring independence and equality without bias, thus establishing a strong foundation for Indian culture. Prof. Umesh urged everyone to protect and uphold the principles enshrined in the constitution and to remember and respect Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for his contributions.

The program was attended by Smt. Ranganayaki, Vice Principal of JSS Nursing School, Prof. M. Basavaraju, NSS Programme Officer, Smt. Mahadevamma, Kannada lecturer, lecturers of JSS PU College, and students.
