About JSS Gayathri Higher Primary School, Malur
In 1956, Sri Venkatachalapathy Shetty (fondly called Annaiah) of Malur had established an orphanage. Under the aegis of this orphanage, he started a school in the year 1968. The school was named after Princess Gayatri Devi (daughter of Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar) in the memory of her visit to Malur. From 1971, the school started receiving the grant in aid from the government. The school came under the administration of JSS Mahavidyapeeta in the year 1986.
The school persistently strives to create an environment which helps the children to chisel out their talents and mould them into a better individual. The school has a well-built infrastructure that is necessary for the comfort development of the children. It has well-ventilated classrooms, state of the art IT lab, a library with books on arts, science and literature, indoor and outdoor sporting materials, and other facilities.
Admission is given to the students from class 1st to 7th as per the norms prescribed the Govt. of Karnataka. The academic year starts from the last week of May.
Classrooms: Spacious, well-equipped and well-ventilated.
Library: Well-stocked with a good collection of books.
Playground: The school has a big playground with amenities for different sports.
Sports materials: School provides both indoor and outdoor sports materials for the students.
Laboratory: Well equipped with latest experiments.
Drinking water: Pure drinking water is provided in the campus.
Toilets: Separate toilets for girls and boys are provided.
