JSS Higher Primary School, Rampura has a rich history that dates back to 1953, when it was established in Rampura village, Chamarajanagar district. Initially, the school was under the administration of the educational department of Neelagiri (which belonged to Madras Province then). However, in May 1973, JSS Mahavidyapeeta took over the administration of the school. In the beginning, the school was run in a rented house with only a few educators, but after a few years, the school was shifted to a new sophisticated building.

The school started with only 1st to 4th standard in its first academic year, but gradually, more classes were added, and now it runs up to 7th standard. The school has a nursery, primary, and higher primary sections where the medium of instruction is in both English and Kannada languages.

The school is built amid lush green nature and has all the necessary facilities. The classrooms are well-furnished with proper seating arrangements, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for the students. The school has a spacious playground with appropriate sporting materials for the students, allowing them to engage in physical activities and develop their overall well-being.

Moreover, the school has a computer lab equipped with the latest systems, ensuring that students are exposed to the latest technological advancements. The school also has a well-stacked library with more than 500 books related to academics and literature, providing students with ample opportunities to explore their interests.

Currently, around 600 students are pursuing value-based education in JSS Higher Primary School, Suttur. The institution has produced many medical professionals, artists, government officials, and other professionals, highlighting the success of the school’s efforts in providing quality education to its students.
