About JSS Higher Primary School, Suttur
JSS Higher Primary School, Suttur is a renowned institution that was established in 1991-92 in Nanjangud, with a modest enrolment of 64 students. Over the years, it has grown into a premier educational establishment that provides free education, textbooks, uniforms, and meals to underprivileged children. The school project was inaugurated by former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in 2001-2002, and presently more than 4,000 students are studying in the school, including 1,500 girls from different parts of India. Students who have graduated from JSS Higher Primary School, Suttur are either pursuing higher studies in reputed institutions or have built sound careers in different fields.
The Nursery Education program at JSS Higher Primary School, Suttur was introduced during the academic year of 2002-2003. The school introduced English medium classes for 6th and 7th standards during the academic year of 1996-1997. Additionally, English medium classes for 1st to 5th standards were initiated in the academic year of 2016-2017.
