- Under Akshara Dasoha and Ksheera Bhagya Programme midday meal and milk is provided to the students.
- Free textbooks are also distributed to the students.
- The academic year started in May and ends in April.
Sports Activities: Sports and games are an integral part of school education. It helps for the physical and intellectual growth of the students. Our school possess both indoor and outdoor sporting materials. We train students in volleyball, throw ball and kho-kho.

JSS Higher Primary School (English medium) Saragur was started in the year 2013-14. The English medium was implemented at the request of the natives. As HD Kote was a backward village there were minimal schools that provided quality education. In the beginning, English medium was introduced for Classes VI, VII and VIII and then it was implemented to std.1 to std V in 2016-17. Presently students from various villages of HD Kote taluk & Saragur taluk are pursuing education here.
JSS Higher Primary English Medium School, Saragur got the “Best School” award in the year 2022-23.
