Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti

His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji established Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti in 1986 for the propagation of religion, literature, arts and culture. The prime objective of this Datti is to publish books related to dharma and philosophy, arrange discourses like Shivanubhava Dasoha, spreading religion in rural areas and conduct spiritual and personality development camps for all age groups. Sri Shivarathreeshwara Award is also conferred by this Datti.

1. Sri Shivarathreeshwara Award
Sri Shivarathreeshwara Award was instituted in 1983 to honour the best literary works on religion, literature, history, art and culture. So far, 32 works have been awarded under this scheme. The recipients are awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25000, a plaque and a certificate.

2. Shivanubhava Dasoha
Shivanubhava Dasoha lecture series is being conducted since 1996, on the last Saturday of every month. Discourses on religion, philosophy and comparative study of world religions, sharana preaching, lifestyle and health issues are being held.

3. Personality Development Camps
Sri Shivarathreeshwara Dharmika Datti has been conducting personality development camps for public, pontiffs, medical practitioners, farmers, youths, students and other individual categories at Suttur, Mysuru and Ooty every year. These camps aim at overall personality development of the participants by conducting discourses on matters related to individual life, Q and A sessions, and other related activities.

4. Propagation of Religion in rural areas
The Datti has been propagating religion in rural areas. Anyone who desires to embrace Veerashaiva religion is given Lingadeekshe.

5. Jnana Vaaridhi – A Weekly Lecture Series
Jnana Vaaridhi is a weekly lecture programme that started in December 2020. It is a virtual (online) programme conducted on every Monday. Resource persons of national and international repute are invited to deliver talk on various subjects like religion, spirituality, yoga, arts, literature, culture, health, lifestyle, science, technology, and current affairs.
