Director – Technical Education

Dr. Suresh assumed the charge as Director of the Technical Education Division in 2023. With over 40 years of experience in pharmacy education and profession, he also serves as the Pro-Chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru, a prestigious and multidisciplinary institution that offers academic programs in health sciences, life sciences, and management studies. He was the President of the Pharmacy Council of India, the statutory body that regulates pharmacy education and profession in India (2003-2021), and the Chairman of the Scientific Body of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (2008-2013), which sets the standards for pharmaceutical substances and formulations.

Dr. Suresh is a pioneer and advocate of the pharmacy practice concept in India and has introduced postgraduate and Pharm D programs in the country. He is also a delegate member of the United States Pharmacopeia Convention, USA. He was also Chair/ member of the ACPE International Services Commission, USA (2015-2021), and an executive member of the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association. He has received multiple honorary doctorates and awards for contributing to developing pharmacy education and profession in India. He is passionate about enhancing the quality and relevance of higher education and research and fostering innovation and collaboration among stakeholders.
