Handling Project in Taluk/District geographical area in the sectors of Roads, Water supply project and Irrigation works Assistant

Accomplishments

  • Construction of saltwater exclusion dam at Neelavara, Udupi Tq.
As Technical head in the City Corporation of Mangalore with population over half million spread over 170 sqkm which is a coastal town receiving rainfall of over 3500mm. He was instrumental in constructing all weather road, concreting of major arterial roads and roads connecting Airport. He was in-charge of developments and maintenance of infrastructure of the city including Roads, Water supply, Buildings, UGD and Parks.

Accomplishments

  • Development of concrete road to Mangalore Airport(16 kms)
  • Major Roads were widened through consent of landowners and without land acquisition
  • Effectively and efficiently managed 30 years legacy water supply scheme to the city
  • Introducing mechanized maintenance to stop manual UGD cleaning
  • Operationalizing a decade old defunct bio-digester in the UGD.
  • Co-ordinator of the multi-institutional KUDCEMP project with an outlay of Rs. 300 crores to Mangalore city.
Dr. KB Suresh worked as the Head of Engineering Section of Mysuru City Corporation(MCC), Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and in PWD Communication and Building sector in the district of Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagara districts.

Accomplishments

  • Implemented JnNURM Projects of Mysuru City Corporation in the areas of Storm water drains, Solid waste management, Housing and Heritage with an outlay of Rs. 300 crores.
  • Co-ordinator for multi-institutionalimplementation of JnNURM Projects in Mysuru City with an outlay of Rs. 700 cores.
  • Actively involved in Solid Waste Management of Mysuru city. As an outcome of this, the city was conferred the Clean City award in 2010 by MoUD, Govt. of India.
  • Introducing e-procurement in Mysuru City Corporation for greater accountability and transparency.
  • Introducing GPS track system for all vehicles owned and hired by Mysuru City Corporation.
Working as Project Director, KSHIP, Bengaluru the organization which accomplishes Development and Improvement of State Highways in Karnataka State with external aided assistance like World Bank and Asian Development Bank.

Accomplishments

  • Strengthening the Web based Project Monitoring system for real time project monitoring.
  • Digitizing the office system through e-office implementation
  • Achieving good project progress against challenges of covid pandemic
  • Co-ordinating in getting forest clearance, Pollution board clearance and Revenue clearance in the project to prevent time and cost overrun.
  • Best Civil Engineer award by Institution of Engineer, Mysuru centre-2010.
  • Nagarothama Award by the President of India for the implementation JnNURM Project in Mysuru city – 2011.
  • Community Participation Fund award by Urban Development Department of Govt. of Karnataka.
  • Innovative construction methodology award for JnNURM Buildings, MoHUPA, Govt. of India.
  • Seva Sarvothama award – Highest Civil Services Recognition by District Administration of Mysuru in 2019.
