About the College

JSS Women’s PU College, Saraswathipuram came into existence in 1970 as a brainchild of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr Shri Shri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji with a noble motive of providing Liberty to Women through education. It is one of the fluttering institutes running under the banner of JSS Mahavidhyapeetha.

The institute’s secular outlook has enabled students of all castes, religions and languages to be a part of this institute. More than 20% of the students hail from the rural area. A team of dedicated and knowledgeable faculty, active administrative and non-teaching staff; a rich Library; Well-equipped Laboratories and Auditorium are the support system of the institution.The College offers courses in Arts, Science and Commerce. The institute has achieved 26 ranks at the PU level and records a pass percentage of 80% to 90%.Spread over 8 acres the College is spacious and secured. The College also houses a health centre where health facilities from JSS hospital are offered. There is a vast sports field, and sports activities are encouraged. To prepare the students for various competitive exams, the College provides training for its students in CET, Computer courses, Spoken English, etc., Remedial classes for students who come from Kannada medium are also conducted. The College has set up a unique forum to encourage sports, games, cultural and literary activities. Tours and picnics are also held annually.
