“Swami Vivekananda was a world winner”- Suresh Rigvedi

Kollegal, January 13, 2020: “Swami Vivekananda is respected a lot in foreign countries. He was not only an Indian but a world-renowned monk. He was a world winner and we have a lot to learn from him,” opined Sri Suresh Rigvedi, Lecturer, Govt. PU College, Amachawadi.

He was addressing the students after inaugurating the “Life and Messages of Swami Vivekananda”, a talk, oganised by the Youth Red Cross and NSS Units, of the JSS Women’s College, Kollegal, today, on the occasion of the 157th Jayanthi Mahotsav of Swami Vivekananda.

“Inspired by the life and messages of Swami Vivekananda, hundreds of people in our country involved in the fight for independence. Our pride in our country triples just by listening to his name. Through his selfless service and his speeches, he proved that India is a religious leader of the world and became a world winner. His life is an inspiration for all of us,” he added.

Prof. Umesh, Principal, JSS Women’s College in his address expressed his view that Swami Vivekananda was an inspiration to the youth throughout his life and instilled patriotism in them apart from being just a religious monk. “He was a good thinker, orator, writer. Including common people, he also guided many Kings and princes, monks, scientists, religious representatives, officers, professors and students just through his letters. His speeches used to mesmerize the world over. His thinkings about various aspects inspire many. While we celebrate his birthday here as the ‘National Youth Day’, in Chicago September 11 is celebrated grandly as the ‘World Brotherhood Day’, in his memory,” he opined.

An exhibition of pictures of Swami Vivekananda’s life and his books was arranged. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions.
