Kollegal, January 18, 2019: “It takes several days to speak completely about Swami Vivekananda, who was a powerhouse of inspiration, a fountain of spirit, a great religious leader and monk who introduced India to the entire world,” opined Sri S. J. Krishna, Senior cadre Civil Judge.
He inaugurated a special lecture on ‘Skill Development’, held at the JSS Women’s College, in Kollegal, organized by the Youth Red Cross Society, Kollegal Taluk unit, in association with the Legal Services Committee, Taluk Advocates Committee and Nehru Yuva Kendra, as part of the National Youth Week.
“The entire world, especially the youth were attracted and inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s ideologies. As Indians we should all know about him, in fact, it is our responsibility. Every year January 12th is being observed as the Youth Day across the world, which itself proves Swami Vivekananda and his ideologies are universally accepted and why we should all know about him,” he said.
Prof. Umesh, Principal, JSS Women’s College, Kollegal presided over the programme. In his address to the students, he expressed his view that our entire lives itself are a portrayal of India. “Like we say we have to read the Bhagawadgita to understand Lord Krishna, we have to study the life of Swami Vivekananda to understand him completely. His life itself was a success story,” he added.
While a senior advocate of Kollegal Sri Madhusudan spoke about the celebration of Youth Day, advocate Sri D. Venkatachala spoke about skill development. They called upon the students to utilize their talent and adopt his ideologies.
Sri D. S. Basavaraju, President, Advocates Committee, N. Basavaraju, Secretary, Senior Advocate Smt. Nirmala Madhusudan, Smt. Umamaheshwari, Sri Basavadatta Mahadevprasad, and others were present on the dais.
