Kollegal, January 17, 2019: “Instead of just earning a literate tag by getting a graduation certificate from the University, the students should live a life with wholeheartedness in the society,” observed young scientist ‘Drone’ Pratap.
He inaugurated the exhibition of portraits and books of Swami Vivekananda, held at the JSS Women’s College in Kollegal, organized by the Library and Information Department of the College, as part of the National Youth Week, being observed on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.
“Swami Vivekananda was not only a patriot by himself, but he inspired thousands of youth of the country through his motivating messages and preaching. He had a lot of trust in the strength of knowledge of the youth. But I feel very sad to share with you that today it has become very difficult to see such a strength among the youth. We should all develop love towards our country and contribute something for our country. I personally have a dream to further innovate and expand the capacity of the drone which I have invented so that it will become useful for the farmers and soldiers of our country, and it becomes useful to protect people during natural calamities.
In his address to the students Prof. Umesh, Principal, JSS Women’s College, Kollegal said, “In this modern world the youth are trapped and attracted towards materialistic life. They have completely forgotten our culture and traditions. They should try to develop good qualities like truth, patriotism and have a good aim in their lives and develop service mindedness. Students should stay strong during times of distress and try to become representatives of our rich traditions.”
Sri Srinivas, Librarian, Sri Shivu and Sri Prabhuswamy, Assistant Librarians were present.
