‘Quiz competition on ‘Lives and Messages of Visionaries’ held at the JSS High School in Suttur

Suttur, Mar. 31, 2021: The Akhila Bharatha Sharana Sahitya Parishath, Mysore Chapter, in association with the Kadali Mahila Vedike, had jointly organized a quiz competition at the JSS High School in Suttur, on the topic, “Lives and Messages of Visionaries.”

Sri G.L. Tripuranthaka, Coordinating Officer inaugurated the competition by lighting the lamp. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Such competitions are important for the school students to understand the values of visionaries, to be adopted by the students in their lives. The principles of visionaries will influence the students and help in building a good society.”

In his address, Sri D.S. Sadashivamurthy, Professor (Retd.) expressed his view that the life and thoughts of visionaries are essential for students’ lives. “If students inculcate a habit of reading vachanas and try to understand the tenets of the visionaries, and adopt them in their lives, they will become good citizens,” he added.

Donors of the Pujya Sri Jademahanta Swamiji Endowment and Pujya Sri Dr. Immadi Shivabasava Swamiji and Smt. Sudha Mruthyunjayappa, Vice-President, Kadali Mahila Vedike, sponsored the quiz competition and distributed prizes to the winners.

About six teams of the school took part in the quiz competition. While 9th standard students D.M. Rakshita and Shuba secured first place in the quiz competition, Yashwanth and H.M. Puneeth secured second, and Praveen and Siddanagowda secured third place. The remaining three teams secured consolation prizes that included cash prizes and certificates.

Smt. Sharada Shivalingaswamy, President, Kadali Mahila Vedike presided over the program. Members of the Akhila Bharatha Sharana Sahitya Parishath and Kadali Mahila Vedike were present on the occasion, along with Headmasters Sri G. Shivamallu and Smt. C.P. Nirnamala, teachers and students of the school.

Earlier the program commenced with an invocation by the students of the school. While Sri M. Rajashekar welcomed all, Smt. Suma Prakash compered and Smt. Geetha Ishwar gave a vote of thanks.
