About JSS Sanskrit School, Chamarajanagara

Sanskrit language, which is the source for all languages is the life force for humankind. Learning this ancient language is always relevant. Realizing the fact that immortality is experienced with knowledge, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji in the year 1968-69 opened a Sanskrit school in Chamarajanagara. JSS Sanskrit School, Chamarajanagara, was the first Sanskrit school in the city. Though Chamarajanagara has a historical significance its people living there are economically backward. This Sanskrit school which was started with a strength of 90 students, now, has a strength of 400 students. During the year 2011-12, this school obtained very good result and was bestowed with “The Best Sanskrit School” award. There are six classes namely Prathama I, II, III, Kavya I, II, respectively. The students are taught prose, poetry, Amara kosha, vyakarana, drama, champu with other affiliated subjects. The faculty of the school are well-experienced and work for the progress of the school.

The students who have studied here have obtained good positions in various institutions & are serving the society in their own terms. At present with the blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, our school is progressing with good results.
