About JSS Sanskrit Patashala, Mysore
Sanskrit is an ancient Indo-Aryan language. It is the liturgical language of Hinduism. The corpus of Sanskrit literature encompasses a rich tradition of poetry, drama as well as scientific, technical, philosophical and spiritual texts. A few traditional institutions believe that learning Sanskrit helps to develop a mindset that aids in the understanding of other subjects or languages. In India, many attempts are being made to popularize the language. One such effort is the establishment of JSS Sanskrit patashala, Mysore, by JSS Mahavidyapeetha. The school is located in a serene atmosphere in SaraswathiPuram, Mysore. The institute was established by Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Maha Swamiji in the year 1973 -74. Every year, hundreds of students enrol into this school and learn the ancient language. They not only come out with flying colours but also earn a reputation for themselves and perpetuate the legacy of the institution.
