Educational Institutions of Sanskrit, Veda, Agama and Astrology Schools
In order to encourage learning of the ancient Indian heritage of Veda, Agama and Astrology, one needs to know the Sanskrit Language. JSSMVP started the Kyatanahalli Sri Siddlingaiah Samskruta Patashala 60 years ago, in Mysuru, to teach Sanskrit. JSSMVP was running 10 Sanskrit schools, out of which 6 were aided and 4 were unaided. Among them, five schools were in rural areas thereby facilitating rural students also to learn Sanskrit.
There are 17 teaching and 1 non-teaching staff employed in these institutions. 1,816 students (1035 boys and 781 girls) are studying in these schools. Recurring expenditure is Rs. 22.05 lakh. Veda, Agama shastra and astrology are also being taught in these schools at Mysuru and Suttur.
