Suttur, Sept. 18, 2020: The Government of India has announced September as ‘Nutrition Month’. Efforts are made to create awareness about the importance of nutrition among all the mothers across the country during this month. The objective of this campaign is strengthening nutrition-levels among women and children and eliminating malnutrition.
The ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra had organised a programme on September 17, 2020 as part of this campaign, at its centre in Suttur, in association with the IFFCO, Mysuru. Smt. Netravathi Yettinamani, In-house Scientist, JSS KVK, shared information about the food that needs to be consumed to improve nutrition levels, consumption of fruits and vegetables to increase immunity, types of food that prevents anaemia, how to develop and maintain a kitchen garden, etc, with the anganwadi activists.
Sri Shamraj, Farm Scientist, JSS KVK, shared information about the methods of growing vegetables, fruits and greens in a kitchen garden and what manure should be used.
On the occasion, Sri Rafeek P.K., Field Officer, IFFCO distributed seed kits to anganwadi activists.
A total number of 45 people including angawadi activists and JSS KVK staff members were present.
