“Unity is India’s strength” – Sri Subedar K. Raju

Mysuru, Nov. 1, 2018: “Everybody should stop thinking about caste, religion, and gender. We can progress only when we are united. It will also lead to the progress of our country. In fact, unity is the strength of our country,” opined Sri Subedar K. Raju, of NCC 14th Karnataka Batallion, Mysuru.

He participated as the chief guest at the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’, held at the JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, B. N. Road, Mysuru. “During the Kargil war, we used to stay in a very congested place and eat in a single plate with other cadets. We could register a victory in that war because we stood united. Likewise, unity is also required to keep our country together. Hence, the country should come first for everyone. We all should think that we are all Indians first,” he said.

In his presidential address Prof. B. V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive Manager of the College observed, “All of us are equal according to our constitution. Gender, caste, language or creed doesn’t matter. Despite this, the row over caste is growing constantly. Hence, we should try to unite the people by celebrating national festivals and birth anniversaries of our national leaders. We should forget our differences and develop national integrity through brotherhood and staying in peace. Ours is a diversified country, it is very difficult to live unitedly. But we should also not forget that it is the duty of each and every citizen of this country to respect and protect the unity, integrity, and security of this country,” he added.
