UGC Sponsored National Level Workshop on “Pre-Placement Training for Life Science Students”
Mysuru, Mar. 11, 2017: “Students can involve completely and perform well in their jobs only if they are confident about the jobs which they have opted for,” opined Dr. Gowtham Banerjee, Strategic Science Group, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. Research Centre.
He addressed the students after inaugurating the UGC sponsored National Level Workshop on Pre-Placement Training for Life Science Students, organised by the Postgraduate Departments of Biotechnology and Biochemistry, JSS College of Arts, Science and Commerce, B N Road, Mysuru.
In the interactive session, Dr. Gowtham answered to several questions relating to placements asked by the students.
College Chief Executive Officer Prof. B. V. Sambashivaiah presided over the programme. In his address he explained that the national level workshop was being held with cooperation from public and private enterprises. He observed that such workshops along with inspiring the students, also increases their confidence. It also helps the students to increase their skills, he added.
More than 200 students of different colleges participated in the workshop. Sri Ronald Mascarenhas, Head, Human Resources Department, Chemwell Biopharm Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru and Dr. Balasubramanya, Coordinator, Biotechnology Finishing School, Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru, provided information relating to pre-placement services.
Prof. M. Mahadevappa welcomed. Dr. B. Y. Satish Kumar, Head of Department, Department of Post Graduate Biotechnology, proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Chetan Kumar M, Head of Department, Department of Postgraduate Biochemistry, was present.
