UGC member Prof. Shweta Shenoy inaugurates cleanliness drive at JSS Autonomous College, Mysuru.
September 9, 2017: The JSS group of institutions has initiated a cleanliness campaign, as part of the nationwide cleanliness drive organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development Program, under the title ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’, from September 1 to 15, 2017.
The University Grants Commission has issued directions to all the higher education institutions of the country to conduct relevant programmes. Accordingly, the JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, has organized a cleanliness drive and competition from September 1 to 15. Every day the students take up cleaning of the college premises under several titles like ‘green premises’, ‘clean canteen’, clean guest house’, etc.
Prof. Shweta Shenoy Devaraju of Gurunank Dev University, Amritsar, who is also the Head of UGC Peer Committee, who was on an inspection visit to the JSS Autonomous College, inaugurated the cleanliness drive. A jatha was held from the College to the Gowrishankarnagara, where the students of the college participated in the community cleanliness drive. The students held placards having slogans on cleanliness awareness. Volunteers took out a door-to-door cleanliness campaign by distributing handbills.
