Sahana Schools (for special children)
The Sahana schools were started in Bengaluru and Mysuru to educate the special children. These two schools were provided with grants from GoK and GoI. The objective of these schools is to provide education to such children, and to create awareness among them about their rights and responsibilities, to bring out their latent talent and potential and integrate them with the mainstream society, by making them get rid of their inferior feelings. These students are taught by specially trained teachers, with suitable educational aids. Many students of this school have participated in sports and other competitions for special children and have won prizes.
There were 22 teachers and 8 non-teaching staff in these two Sahana schools with 248 children (128 boys and 120 girls).
