“Money is given more importance than human values” – Prof. Maleyuru Guruswamy

Mudukuthore, February 10, 2017: “Today, money is being given more importance than human values,” lamented Prof. Maleyuru Guruswamy.

Delivering a talk at the religious meet organized by Suttur Sri Naadumath, held at the Sri Shivarathreeshwara Mangala Mantapa at Mudukuthore he said, “History has proven that nothing could be achieved by wars, which are fought for money, property, power and prestige. The entire world should live like a family. We should learn from the mistakes committed through history and engage in nation building activities. In this context, the works of Sri Suttur Math, which is providing equal opportunities to the people in all sectors, is appreciable,” he said and recalled the origin of the Sri Math, which was established due to conciliation between the Gangas and the Cholas.

“The sacred Suttur Sri Math, which has a history of thousands of years, is a revered place. Such sacred places cleanse us. People irrespective of caste, religion and creed come together only in such places. That is the reason why our ancestors gave importance to jatra mahotsavs and utsavs. But, unfortunately today we are turning our children into money-making machines. We think that it is fine if they become educated. However, that is not enough. We should shape them into morally upright citizens,” he added.

Mysuru Zilla Panchayat Vice President Nataraju opined that all the works of Sri Suttur Math are ideals for the society.

Nanjangud Dharmika Datti officer Sri Jayaprakash said, “Human relationships become stronger through jatra mahotsavs and yatras. The glory of Sri Mudukuthore is great.”

Sri Siddalinga Shivacharya Swamiji of Vatalu math gave his blessings on this occasion. S. Shivakumaraswamy, Secretary, JSSMVP presided over the programme. Srinivasamurthy, Assistant Executive Engineer, Dharmika Datti and T. H. Manjunath, ZP member, S. P. Manjunath, Secretary, JSS MVP, and Department officers, Seers of various Maths, Haraguru Charamurthy and devotees were present.
