Tie and Belt:Cement colour with diagonal stripes.

Medium of Instruction: Kannada.

The school aims to work for all round development of the students. Besides academics, special emphasis is being given to co-curricular activities. The school encourages students to take part in co-curricular activities such as Hobli-level sports meet and Prathibha Karnaji (talent hunt competiton), organized by the Department of Education. Every Friday, cultural events are conducted in the school to promote interest in cultural activities among the students.

The birthday celebrations of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Rajendra Mahaswamiji are held with much fanfare at the school. Prizes are distributed to meritorious and talented students at the annual school day function, which is celebrated every year. During 2012-13 our students won prizes in Prathibha Karanji and inter-school level Vachana Gayana competitions.

About Us

The JSS Higher Primary School of Kamagere village, in Kollegala taluk is located in the lap of the “Folk Land” of Lord God Malai Mahadeshwara. The Kamagere village is located adjacent to the main road, between MM Hills and Kollegal. In the 1990s, the villagers of Kamagere, led by late Sri Huchappa (father of late minister Sri H. Nagappa), requested His Holiness Sri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji of Suttur math to open a school, more specifically a high school for girls in their village. Thus, with the blessings of HH Sri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the JSS Higher Primary School took birth in Kamagere. Sri Huchappa provided the land for the school building. Later, a crèche and a pre-primary school were also started in a rented house. However, currently all the classes including pre-primary, primary and high schools are housed in the same building. More classrooms are added to accommodate the students of primary classes. Heeding to the request of Late Minister Sri Nagappa, the school also started offering education free of cost. The school has a qualified team of faculty and is striving to offer good quality education.
