Admission is offered to 8th,9th, and 10th classes as per the rules of the Karnataka Government. Students appear for the SSLC examinations at the end of class 10. The academic year starts in the first week of June.
Along with academics, sports and other cultural activities are also an important part of the curriculum. The Students’ Cultural Union organizes several activities throughout the year. An educational tour is organized every year. National festivals and important days are celebrated. Our students participate in the JSS Inter-School cultural, and sports competitions held at the annual Suttur Jatra Mahotsav. The school brings out an annual magazine ‘Pranati’ every year. Special lectures by resource persons are also organized at regular intervals.

About Us
JSS Girls High School, Yelandur, Chamarajanagar District, was established in 1981. Yelandur is a place well-known for scholars, nature lovers, and artists. The place has many temples and heritage buildings. Even though Yelandur has an impressive historical background, its progress in the field of education had been slow for several years after independence. Thus, recognizing the need for an educational institution in Yelandur, JSS Mahavidyapeetha established the Girls High School in 1981. The school started receiving grant-in-aid from the year 1986.
We aim to nurture every child, to make them educated and responsible individuals, who work for the upliftment of the society and nation. Our school provides all the necessary facilities required for the cultural and academic development of the students.
The school is situated in the central part of Yelandur town. It has a well-designed building and a beautiful campus. The infrastructure includes spacious and ventilated classrooms, a well-equipped science lab, a computer lab, a library hall, a reading room, adequate sports materials, and other basic facilities. The well-experienced and highly qualified teachers help our children to bring out their inborn potential.
