Primary education is what lays the foundation for children’s future. That is the reason for which the government is focusing on primary education. This is also the priority of JSS Mahavidyapeetha and hence it has established many primary schools in urban and rural areas. There are 18 primary schools and 59 high schools in Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru, Kolar, Hassan, Mandya and Shimoga in Karnataka and Periyar District in Tamilnadu.
About 6,765 students were studying in primary schools (3,824 boys and 2,941 girls). 167 teaching and 36 non-teaching staff were working in these primary schools. Out of the 18 primary schools, 8 schools were aided and 10 schools were run by JSS MVP. Recurring expenditure of these primary schools amounted to Rs.223.14 lakh and non-recurring expenditure Rs. 09.77 lakh.
Out of the 59 high schools, 30 were aided and 29 high schools are run by JSS MVP. 12,798 students (7,191 boys and 5,607 girls) were studying in these schools. 556 teachers and 154 non-teaching staff were employed in these schools. Recurring expenditure of these schools was Rs.1,341.83 lakh and the non-recurring expenditure was Rs. 35.68 lakhs.
