If god resents, a teacher protects you – Sri Basavalingaswamiji
Suttur, July 30, 2018: “If god resents, a teacher protects you, if the teacher resents even god cannot help you,” opined Paramapujya Sri Basavalingaswamy, of the Dandikere Math.
He was presiding over the Gurupurnima Programme, held at the Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Education Complex, in Suttur, on dt: 28.07.2018, Saturday. In his address to the students, he explained the importance of a teacher by giving several examples.
Chief Guest of the programme, Dr K. M. Mahadevaiah, Principal, Maharaja Sanskrit College, Mysuru, in his address to the students opined, the letter ‘Gu’ (Guru) means darkness and the letter ‘Ru’ means light. “A ‘Guru’ is he who removes the darkness of ignorance,” he added.
“The Suttur Math is serving for the overall development of the society by extending all kinds of education to all the categories of people through JSS MVP. The Math has been rendering selfless services through ‘Anna Dasoha’, ‘Akshara Dasoha,’ and ‘Dharma Dasoha.’ Thus it has become the ‘Kaamdehnu’, ‘Kalpavruksha’, for everybody,” he said.
Sri S.P. Udayashankar, Administrative Officer, JSS Educational Institutions, distributed the Graduation Certificates to the Sanskrit Vidwat students and wished them a bright future.
Smt. Sunanda Bhoopali, Principal, JSS Sanskrit College, in her introductory speech, explained how the life of a person becomes useless if he/she doesn’t have a guru despite having everything, by quoting a Sanskrit Shloka ‘Guroranghripadme Manaschenna Lagnam Tataha Kim’. She beautifully explained why a teacher’s guidance is necessary for the present society. She welcomed the participants and guests of the programme.
Earlier the programme commenced with an invocation by the school students. A. S. Shirurmath, Lecturer, Sanskrit College gave a vote of thanks and Sri Chandramouli, Headmaster, JSS Sanskrit School compered.
Students and Heads of all the departments of JSS Institution, Suttur, were present.
The ‘Gurupurnima’ programme held at the JSS Institution campus in Suttur was commenced by offering floral tribute to the portrait of Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji. Sri Basavalinga Swami of Dandikere Math, Dr. K. Mahadevaiah, Sri S.P. Udayashankar and Heads of various Departments of the JSS Institution are seen in the picture.
