Contribution of Maths towards the development of the Society is immense – Sri Kota Srinivasa Poojari

Suttur, February 8, 2020: “The Suttur Srimath has been striving to build a strong society and help the people to live independently. Likewise, many other maths in the State are also striving for the development of society and have contributed immensely. Maths are social properties,” opined Sri Kota Srinivasa Poojari, Muzrai, Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport Minister.

He inaugurated the religious meet held at the Suttur Srinaadu Math in Mudukuthore, organised by the Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur Srikshetra. “Noticing that the development of society is possible only through education the maths have been working to provide a good education for all. It has reduced the burden of the government to a certain extent. The government implements all the schemes and programmes with an aim that the benefits would reach even the last person. The Suttur Srimath and other maths also are working with the same objective,” he added.

In his blessings, Paramapujya Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji expressed his view that Mudukuthore is a wonderful place gifted with abundant natural resources like rivers, mountains, sand dunes, forest area, and good atmosphere. “Mudukuthore is considered as the Abhinava Srishyla and Srishyla of South Karnataka among the devotees who come here. The Suttur math has been conducting religious meet every year during the jatra mahotsav held here. Whether it is a fair, festival or any other special occasion, people should participate without any worldly thoughts and try to focus on self-introspection and good thoughts. Everyone should shed ego and be kind. Only then we can find the path of salvation,” he said.

Sri M. Ashwinkumar MLA presided over the programme. In his address, he said, “one can find the intentions of Sharana principles at the Suttur Srimath. That is why the Srimath enjoys such huge devotion, respect, support and participation in all its programmes. We elected representatives also take part in them irrespective of caste or religion. The maths have been undertaking works liked by the people,” he added.

Chief guest Dr. N.C. Venkataraju, Assistant Commissioner, Mysuru, in his address expressed his view that the “religious meet being held here is not restricted only to spiritualism and to religious leaders. But it is a platform for the people to think towards overall development of the society. Everybody should join together and strive to make Mudukuthore, which has gained a prominent place among the hearts of the people of the State as a religious, sacred and cultural place, as a tourist place,” he said.

Another chief guest Sri B.R. Veerabhadraiah, Superintendent Engineer, Public Works Department, Mysuru, in his address opined that only a person who strives for the welfare of all human beings can attain self welfare. All the pontiffs of the Suttur Srimath have undertaken pro-societal works.

Smt. Priyadarshini Iswhar Sanikoppa, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, Mysuru, in her address expressed her view that anyone can earn money and wealth. But, in order to earn peace one should always walk a good way. “If you retain everything you earn for yourself it increases your sorrows. You get peace through charity and spending on good works. Each one of us should try to introspect ourselves and help the helpless and poor as much as we can,” she added.

Ni.Pra.Swa Sri Marula Siddaswamiji of the Sri Shettaramath, Athani Taluk, Belagavi District in his blessings said that people should try to find everything in work and spend on the welfare of the society.

Dr. B.S. Sudeep welcomed, Sri R.S. Kumar gave a vote of thanks. While teacher Sri M. Basavaraju gave an invocation, Prof. P.M. Mahadevaswamy compered.
