Cleanliness Drive Promotes Good Health and Hygiene at JSS Women’s College

Kollegal, February 18, 2019: In an effort to promote cleanliness and good health, students of JSS Women’s College in Kollegal actively participated in a cleanliness drive as part of the ‘Swachch Bharath Abhiyan’. The college campus was meticulously cleaned by the students, under the guidance of Prof. Umesh, the Principal of the college. The cleanliness drive was organized by the JSS Women’s College, National Services Scheme (NSS) unit.

Prof. Umesh, in his address after the cleanliness drive, emphasized the inseparable relationship between cleanliness and good health. He stated, “Cleanliness and health are like two faces of the same coin; they are inter-dependent. It is the responsibility of every citizen to strive for a healthy life in order to build a healthy society. By maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings, we can prevent the spread of diseases and ensure hygienic conditions. Let us extend our efforts beyond our homes and create awareness among our neighbors about the importance of cleanliness.”

The NSS Programme Officer, Prof. Basavaraju, and the Cleanliness Drive Committee convener, Prof. Manjunath, were also present during the event, providing guidance and support to the students.

The cleanliness drive not only instilled a sense of responsibility and cleanliness among the students but also served as a platform to create awareness about the significance of hygiene in maintaining good health.
