Mysore: JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled is hosting the 3rd Indian Congress for the Persons with Disabilities with Mysore. The event will be held at JSS Technical Institutions’ Campus from February 21st to February 23rd. The three day event is organized with the assistance and co-operation of group of Persons with Disabilities, NGOs and other organizations. Around 150 delegates from different parts of the country and outside the country are expected to attend the event.
The key aim of the event is to create awareness about the differently abled persons, their rights, needs, potentials and contributions to the general community and to wipe out the stigma attached to the society about the differently abled. These events motivates such people to appear in the lame stream of the society and to lead a life similar to other people.
The Indian Congress for the differently abled was an initiative of bunch of enthusiastic individuals consisting of Rabindran Isaac, Mickey Joseph, Sumanth Iyengar and Vinay who were inspired by the World Congress for Persons with Disabilities held at Russia in 2017. The 1st Indian Congress for Persons with Disabilities was held at Karl Kubel Institute, Anaiketti, Coimbatore where 75 delegates from all over the country took part in the event.
